But who is the crew behind the handle? While we are new-ish to card collecting (with the exception of some Pokemon and football cards from Target), we’ve jumped headlong into the VeeFriends universe.
Jake (dad) started following Gary Vaynerchuk in 2021 when crypto currencies and NFTs were starting to peak. After getting laid off in early 2025 from his corporate job, he and his wife (Melissa) started listening to Gary’s podcast “The GaryVee Audio Experience”. The positivity, real-talk, and consistent motivation to follow their passions was exactly what Jake needed to push through the rough months that followed.
When Gary mentioned an app called WhatNot, the family quickly found the VeeFriends Topps Chrome universe, and then branched out into the Series 1 and Series 2 TCG cards. Jake started collecting and after a couple of months thought “I think I can do this ‘breaking’ thing!” With the family’s support, Jake and Ronan (son) did their first stream in mid-July 2025. The rest was history.
